July 2014

Talks begin with Ely Flames and Witchford Warriors to merge both clubs to form East Cambs Basketball club.

August 2014

14th August 2014, East Cambs Basketball Club officially registered with Basketball England and become the newest basketball club in Cambridgeshire.

October 2014

Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 teams begin their first season in the Norfolk Junior League.

August 2015

Senior team make debut this season. Bringing the total number of teams in the Warriors clan to 4 (Under14/Under16/Under18/Senior).

February 2016

Under 16 team are crowned Peterborough Basketball League Division 3 Champions, with a perfect 6-0 record for the 2015-2016 season. This is the clubs first ever title and silverware.

May 2016

Three junior players for the warriors selected to play for the Cambridgeshire and Norfolk County teams and Under 13 and Under 17 ages. Lucas Everett-Green selected for the Norfolk under 13 team. Alex Needham and Max Watts selected for the Cambridgeshire Under 17 team.

Junior coach Hayden Brown became assistant coach to the Cambridgeshire Under 13 team.

June 2016

Monday 6th June 2016 – First ever training session of the new female team at the club – East Cambs Amazons.

June 2017

Launch of the Under 12 team.

September 2017

Megan Kolici and Sarah Pollard from the East Cambs Amazons selected to the Norfolk County Pathway.

June 2018

East Cambs Basketball, Warriors and Amazons get rebranded, a new website and move to a new location based at the Hive in Ely

April 2019

Senior Men’s team win their first ever silverware with a 46-39 victory over Werrington Wolves in the Nene Valley Basketball League Plate final.

October 2019

Senior men make debut in division 2 of the Cambridge Basketball League.

February 2020

Senior team player Alex Needem becomes the first member of the club to play 100 games.

March 2020

Hayden Brown becomes second player in club history to play 100 games

Corona Virus forces basketball in the United Kingdom into lockdown and all play is stopped

May 2021

The club and Basketball throughout the UK returns to action with sessions resuming for all squads.

Senior team finally play their last game of the season in the Nene Valley League Play Off semi final against Huntingdon Hawks 1 losing 76-71.

October 2021

Club launch a second men’s team to compete in the Nene Valley Basketball League

January 2022

The club form a new partnership with Kings School, Ely to move the whole basketball program to the school – we will now be offering junior boys, junior girls, Senior men and Senior women all at the same location.

The East Cambs Amazons are relaunched with dedicated training sessions for female players only ages 12 and above.

Our under 12 junior squad play their first ever game in the Fastbreak junior winter league.

February 2022

Hayden Brown joins the 500 club having secured his 500th point for the club with a 3 point shot in the Nene Valley league against Nene Valley Basketball Club.

July 2022

New range of merchandise is launched with the clubs kit manufacturer Hoop Freakz

April 2023

New club supplier for merchandise and kits is Sixthman Basketball

October 2023

Club obtains new sponsor from local company OncoLytika who become kit sponsor and purchase £2000 of junior kit for the club.

March 2024

Our under 14 team win the Cambridge Cats Central Venue League title and also win the playoff trophy.
