With the clubs move to Kings School the club are now able to offer basketball sessions dedicated to the female community of East Cambridgeshire with the relaunch of our women’s basketball program The East Cambs Amazons.
Training sessions will be every Wednesday evening in the Sports Hall at Kings School, Ely and available to Ladies of any standard aged from 12 to seniors.
Club Chairman and head coach Rob Knapper said “When I made the decision to disband The Amazons a few years ago it was with a heavy heart as I felt that it would have made a great addition to the club, but it was just not meant to be. Instead with the move to Kings it has now given the club the opportunity to launch The Amazons again, but this time we are starting from the beginning, a new agenda and hopefully a new future for female basketball in the area.
Last time we had one training session for all ages, but this time around we are offering two sessions, one for junior girls and one for under 18 and senior ladies. Ages 12 and above. I will be running the sessions at the moment, but will be looking for a coach to take on running The Amazons sessions and teams”.
“The training sessions are open to players of any standard whether you are new to the game and want to give it a go, returning to the game after a long absence or a currant player looking for a new club or wanting to build a club from the start and be part of its future then please come along to the sessions”.
If anyone is interested in playing then turn up for the correct session or if you would like further information then get in touch with the club via our social media pages or the contact section of the website.
