Busy season for 2015-2016

East Cambs Warriors are now preparing for a very busy 2015-2016 season. They will be playing in both the junior Norfolk League and the Cambs Junior league and will see the Warriors Senior Team play in their inaugural season in the Nene Valley League.

The Warriors under 14 and under 16 team will be playing in both the Norfolk and Cambs junior leagues this season. The teams will have a new look about them as some players move up to the next age group along with the experience that they bring.

The under 18 team will be playing in the Peterborough League Division 2 in 2015-2016. This is an exclusive under 18 league competition with the added bonus of competing for the Peterborough trophy at the beginning of the year.

The senior team will be making their debut this season and will be competing in the Nene Valley League. The team are made up of a few experienced players new to the club, those who played for the club at under 18 level and are to old for junior basketball, and some players from the Under 18 team.

Head Coach to the club Rob Knapper said “It is going to be an exciting and busy season for the club at all age groups. We are hoping that players will learn, enjoy and above all gain experience during the year. There are a lot of games to play not only in the Norfolk league but also in the Cambridge and Peterborough junior leagues. The under 14 and under 16 teams will have the most fixtures as they will be playing in both.

I am looking forward to this season to see what it will bring. I hope that as a club we can grow, but above all I want the players to enjoy the competition of local league and cup basketball, plus there is always the chance that we could pick up our first piece of silverware as a club”.
